Filter socks clogged.
Nice dark skimmate, but half the amount from last visit.
Dosed Brightwell Aquatics PURIT to see if it helps with the overall condition of the aquarium.
Added Zeovit to refugium as rubble. That may have a positive effect on the aquarium.

**For my first time ever, the toadstool coral is standing up and extending polyps!

Filter socks still clogged. Nice dark skimmate. Lots of detritus. Still seeming diatomaceous growth.

One of the Pajama Cardinals looks a little worse for wear, but the rest of the fish appear healthy. Most likely old age?

***THINGS WE CHANGED***
Oct. 24th - 10gal. water changes. - To allow for nitrates to increase.
Oct.31st - Started feeding frozen - To increase nitrates naturally.
Nov. 12th - Stopped feeding frozen - Client observed more growth on glass.
Nov.14th - Added GFO - To reduce growth, by removing phosphates.
Nov.14th - Dosed 30ml of nitrates - To increase nitrates.
Nov. 21st - Dosed 60ml of nitrates - To increase nitrates

***THINGS WE OBSERVED***
Nov.11th - Excess algae growth on glass.
Nov.14th - a lot of detritus and mulm. Filter socks clogged every week.
Nov.14th - Lower temperature. 77-78 degrees versus 80-81
Nov.21 - No polyp extension.

***THOUGHTS***
Bad frozen food?
Past service provider bad practices?

***CORRECTIVE ACTION***
Start doing 15gal water changes again.
Remove GFO, and use Brightwell Aquatics PURIT to determine if the problem is organic, or inorganic.
If PRUIT shows better results? The source issue, may have been the frozen food (organic).
Use Chemi-Pure, if PRUIT shows no results. If positive result is observed, the issue may be inorganic, and we may want to do an ICP test.

Nitrates still undetectable with dosing 30ml of nitrates. Increasing dosage to 60ml.

I’m not happy with the current results. GSP isn’t opening. The Yellow Polyps are not out, and we have a diatomaceous growth.

There’s a possibility that the nitrates are still too low causing these results. Filter socks are clogged every week. A long 4” filter sock should last at least 2 weeks. We still have a lot of detritus. I would suggest a ICP test, but I’m not sure if it will provide me with answers? We may go back to doing 15 gallon water changes.

These conditions require more thought and study…

Nitrates are still undetectable. Dosing nitrates to help correct and make corals happier.
There has been substantial algae growth noted on the glass. Client has already cleaned it several times this week. We are applying GFO to lower phosphates. This has to be the only source to help fuel the algae.

There is a lot of detritus and mulm. Most likely due to the frozen food.

Filter socks have been clogged every visit since the start of frozen food.

Nitrates undetectable. Added an additional feed cycle to the auto feeder. If we cannot increase the nitrates with food, we’ll have no choice but to start dosing nitrates manually.

Stringy diatomaceous growth due to low nutrients.

Fish appear fine and healthy.

Nitrates are barely detectable. Hopefully next visit will yield better results, but we may have to start dosing Nitrates.

Nitrates are still undetectable. Hopefully next visit will yield the results of a 10 gallon water change.

Nitrates are still undetectable. Reducing water changes to 10 gallons every week. Also asking client to feed frozen every other day, one cube.
