Nitrate to Phosphate Ratio
Nitrates and phosphates are consumed by bacteria in a 16:1 ratio which is known as the Redfield Ratio. That means that if you have zero nitrates then your system is nitrate limited and then the bacteria can't consume phosphate, causing it to rise.
Nowadays some reefers prefer Nitrate to Phosphate ratio of 100:1, so if you have 0.04 ppm phosphates, you can aim for 4 ppm nitrates.
Which ratio to choose is up to you, but now you can see these ratios automatically calculated for you. And the cool thing is that this feature is now available on all three platforms: iPhone, Android and Web.
Make sure to update your software to the latest version of the app: Android 8.7.0 and iPhone 10.0.4.

@minotauro thanks! I did find a bug that will not show N:P if one of these parameters does not fit in the single line on aquarium view. I've fixed it in 10.0.5 which should be available shortly, if you want early access - please email me your Apple ID and I'll add you to the program

@dtum It isn’t showing in my overview for some reason and I am running 10.0.4, any idea what I’m doing wrong?

@reefwithmee that's a tough one to answer as it will depend on what methodology you subscribe to. No matter what - I would say that zero nitrates is not a good thing, and most aquarists would agree with that. At this point many reefers target 100:1 ratio.

What is the most ideal ratio? I’m 1:0 at the moment. .15ppm Phos and 0.0ppm Nitrate. Just ordered some NeoNitro. Just waiting on it to come in.

@calebd91 to see this feature you can click on your aquarium and will see it in the parameter overview section. You'll need to have a recent phosphate and nitrate measurement taken first.
