Last week I purchased a purple firefish at Jan's. He's doing very well, eating and getting more comfortable in his new home. I also picked up some cloves at Mystic reef, and a green nepthia at American reef.

We are a little over a month into the cycle and Nitrites are still high. I started out with dry Caribsea Liferock shapes and dry special grade reef sand. I dosed an initial bottle of Dr. Tim's One & Only and continued to dose a capfull of Microbacter7 until I ran out. I dosed ammonia to 2ppm and let it sit. About two weeks later I dosed some more One & Only, which did absolutely nothing. On Jan 12th I dosed a third bottle of One & Only and tested Nitrites at 5+ and nitrates are starting to spike at 80ppm. We will see how much longer this cycle takes but I think we are close.
