Glued new corals. Unfortunately I broke the bird’s nest coral. I glued it back, but I am not sure if it stays.

Very strange incident
My wife noticed bad smell in the room where the tank is located. I checked the system:
- The skimmer was overflowed
- The collection cup was 50%, so all crap from there got flashed out.
- ORP rapidly dropped to 302
Most likely skimmer malfunctioned first. As a result all collected gunk got release to the system, which in turn caused ORP to go down.

I do not know what caused it, but it is the second time skimmer overflowed in the last couple of weeks.
I need to buy a level censor, so the skimmer can be shut down if this happens again.

I saw the starfish. It was in the corner. Sad part was other fish kept attacking her.
I turned off lights for an hour to give startfish time to hide.

It has been three days since I introduced a starfish and I have not seen it once. Hopefully, it is doing well. There is no trace of a decline of green algae on the sand.

Water is back to its usual clarity.

Water is foggy.
Details:
- It was very clear this morning, so the root cause is very recent
- Possible causes:
— Activated carbon replacement (this one is scary because it could be due to possible contimination; also maybe I did not remove carbon dust properly)
— Cleaning refugium cage (This is most likely reason. I probably steered small particles from bottom of the refugium. If this is the root cause, dust will settle and water will be clean again)
— Filter sock replacement (This is least possible cause. I do it at least twice a week and have not had any problems).
Next steps:
- Wait. Most likely, this is temporary issue. It should clear out in few hours

Algae outbreak actions
- Started dosing Vibrant
- Replaced T5 bulbs (01-19-2024)
- Added Nassarius snails
- Added sand sifting star fish (01-27-2024)
- Started replacing filter socks every two days (previously was twice a week)
- Established refugium

Removed “refugium light on if pH less than 7.9” condition because light was stay on for too long.
