5 days after food feeder problem, test water for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate, the value are 0.1, 0, 1 ppm. so they are not too bad. but I lost Banggai Cardinal yesterday, may be a coincident, but I have not lost any fish for at least 1 year, so likely it is related.

The automatic food feeder malfunctioned last night. it dispensed about half the content before I caught it. Fortunately I just happened to walked by the tank and noticed the fish were letting the food pellets float pass by them without grabbing them. I siphoned out most of pellets I was able to find.
this morning, all fish and coral looked fine so hopefully I have dodged a bullet this time.
I am surprised the food dispenser can fail this way, it potentially can cause major problems for most of aquariums.

the measurements from the Red Sea tester is all over the place. nothing seems to be stable, not sure if the tester I have is defective, one test gives good value, then the second test will go out of whack. I just cannot use it properly. Very frustrating.
I setup my skimmer drain to an external 1 gal. reservoir few days ago, to get ready for the up coming vacation. But this morning the skimmer went crazy for some reason, and filled the external reservoir; this in turn caused the ATO to replenish the sump with RO water, and reduced the salinity by 2 points.
Rearrange some coral placement and mount coral frags gotten during last couple months.

finally actually measured the automatic daily water change volume. it is 3500 ml per day, or 0.92 gal a day, just about 1%.
Setup automatic water change with my reef angel controller. Running 8 times a day, each time runs for 3 minutes, that gives me approximately about one gallon of water change per day.
test water with both API and red sea kit, the results were not collaborate. Especially for calcium, and minor variance for alk.
