Introduction

This is my 29g rebuild with a 20g DIY sump. I have been running my 29g for almost a year without a sump. Recently gathered the funds and time to build a sump and get a skimmer in there. Also switched out all of my old live rock with new live rock. Let the fresh start begin!

Background

This aquarium began as a 29g upgrade from a 20g long that I purchased from a friend. It has recently been renovated to include a sump and all new liverock. Now it has been refreshed the way I should have set it up when I first upgraded from the 20g long. I look forward to one day upgrading this 29g into a 75g tank.

Filtration

I currently run a filter sock which I change out 2-3 times per week. My other filtration is my Reef Octopus NWB-150 which I am still in the process of fine-tuning. I have a bag of carbon in between my sump baffles until I decide to buy a BRS reactor in which I will run carbon or GFO if it it needed.

Lighting

I'm currently using a Reefbreeders Value LED fixture. I am slowly light acclimating the corals to eventually bring it up to 100% whites and maybe 80% blues. The current light schedule is 10:30 am - 9:30 pm 25% blue, 11 am - 8 pm 25% whites.

Flow

For flow I have one MP10w ES and one Koralia 425 on the other side of the tank. The MP10 is set to Reef Crest mode during the day at around 50% power. I recently attempted adding a Jebao RW-8 but found it had way too much power for this sized tank. I plan on keeping the RW-8 for mixing water and use it in my 75g upgrade one day.

Inhabitants

I currently only have two fish, a black and white ocellaris and an azure damselfish. The clownfish used to have a mate until it jumped out last December. I currently have a starry blenny in quarantine. It has a lot of personality and I can't wait to have it in my main tank.
