Going to put the new stand together and perform a leak test on the tank this weekend. Finally!
I let Innovative Marine know which pieces needed replacement today so now I'm just waiting to hear whether they can provide just those individual pieces or whether I'm going to need a new stand entirely. Chomping at the bits to get this thing up and running, especially since it's hogging up the workbench in my garage!
In other news, I'm thinking of going with a CeramEco Bonsai (http://ow.ly/liwVr) as the centerpiece of my aquascape. I favor a minimalism approach, so this fits the bill nicely. The description on their website says "zen feel" and "preserves open sand bed," and that's exactly what I'm going for. Clean, great circulation... can't wait to get started. *sigh*
Stephen from Innovative replied to my email in less than 24 hours and is going to take care of me. Thank goodness! He's asked that I take note of the broken and/or defective pieces so he can see if he can just replace those parts. If not, he'll just replace the stand. He even went as far as offering to "go out into our warehouse and piece together a stand for you" if I bump into trouble with the replacement parts/unit. I emailed Innovative Marine to see if they'd be willing to replace the defective aquarium stand I got with my Reef Ready Kit (or at least the faulty pieces). Their facility isn't terribly far from where I work so if they reply favorably I'd even be willing to go pick it up so I can get this build started. My goal was to start the cycle the week of 5/5 so hopefully I can still achieve that goal.

Tried putting together the stand for my Innovative Marine Mini Nuvo today. Holes that should have been pre-drilled were missing, dowels kept breaking or wouldn't fit... one punched right through the side of the stand! It's basically useless to me. I guess I'll see if they'll swap it out for me. If that doesn't work out, I'm not sure what my next step will be. Build a stand? Find an alternative. We'll see...
