Tested last night KH was 11.5 on Salifert but 9+ on API. Lowered dose to 65 each cal n alk. this am got 430 cal and 9.6 alk. Will check again tonight or tomorrow.

Cal n Alk both still falling but slowly. I raised dosing from 60ml/day each to 70. Phosphate was up at .043ppm so I will change GFO today. SG was at 1.027 so I scooped out a cup of water.

Wierd stuff with euphyllia lately. the small teal one just receded and is now mostly gone but a tiny bit is hanging on. Then the green w/ pink tips was not doing well up high so I moved it lower. The bicolor frogspawn stung it and then it got brown jelly disease and now is toast. The others seem fine.
i got a couple of fish in QT, a blue sided fairy wrasse and a masudas hogfish. I was supposed to get a female wrasse and a midas blenny but we could not catch them so I plan to ride over tomorrow to pick them up.
The mag is slowly falling and this seems to be creeping up the cal demand. I have for the first time ever in this tank balanced Cal and Alk to equal doses. 1 or 2 more WCs and I will likely have to dose mag again.
Back to the Euphillias, the yellow tip torch was stinging the corky finger so I moved it to a magnet on the glass which I like. The torch then reached further and stung the purple Whip so I trimmed most of it and moved to to a magnet as well wich is also nice. It then decided to go after the magician palys so I moved them to a magnet and like the too. The only thing it can reach not are some trash palys so I think we are good for now.
My hairy shroom has been getting beat up by the Aussie Torch but seems to be hanging in there. I noticed today that it is splitting so I will have 2 unhappy Hairys. that being said, my frilly and the blue rhodactis have also recently split.
I am tiring of plating montipora and removed the big polyp red colony except a very small piece and most of the purple colony. I imagine the will both grow back but I will be more diligent abount pruning. The huge small polyp is next to go. trying to find a home for it now.
The Asterina battle continues. I can still find 5 to 7 a day if I look real hard. I am saving them in the QT for George and Barbs Harly. I have definitely thinned them out though.

Retested the KH and got 8.3 on two different salifert tests. I think it is time to ditch the API tests. I think I have one more brand I can try.
It sucked. I will go with the Salifert results of 8.3.

Alk is still low at 7. Will dose to bring up after I confirm with another test.
the new mini pump is awsome for hurricaning the tank but wis it was wireless.
killing the Palys is slow and tedious but seems to be working. i have noticed that some little ones from the first batch are attempting to come back but I quickly treated them.
I have a baby hammer the popped up. I am planning to spot feed it to see if I can bost growth.
The heater in the QT is running too hot at 85 degrees. I unplugged it and will try to find one of the ones I already had.
The starfish hunt is going well. I am up to over 100 and still fing 3 to 5 a day but do not hunt every day.
I am ready to reduce the plating Monti population. they are getting out of hand.

I recently purchased a sea hare to clean up the hair algea he did a pretty good job but died after 1 and a half weeks. I noticed the very large bristle worm was feeding on the dead corpse. I think the BW also killed the Royal Grama. It's time for the BW to go. I made a couple of traps but no luck so far. I will keep trying.
I have been too busy to do water changes but am doing one now. hoping this will lowere the Mag further.
I have started nabing the astrinas as it is becoming apparent that they are the likely culprits in the zoa decline in some of my colonies. I don't think I have a plague but it will take a while to rid them. I gave the Gren Bay Packers to Charlene to try to save. If and when they recover, she will give me a frag back.
I relocated the golden wall hammer. Surprisingly, it just does not seem to be prospering. I am hoping the it was just in too much flow.
The Yellow Tang is doing great.
I accidentally broke of a couple of pieces of the birds nest. One is really small and one is a two branch piece. I glued them to disks. The big one is doing great, keeping an eye on the small one.
I have started holding the bits I siphon in a container over night to see what kind of life I am sucking up. I am quite surprised by the number of baby snails. I also find the odd amphipod and think I found a mysis shrimp today but am not sure. It is cool to return the living stuff back to the tank.

Bought a yellow tang today to hopefully nibble on my persistent hair algae issue. Also got a coral banded shrimp to see if the tank will sustain a shrimp yet and maybe it will eat some of those bristle worms.
This Magnesium thing is making me nuts. I acquired a Salifert Mag test kit with the Radions and tried it. It read over 1700ppm. I will order a new Red Sea kit to check it.
Added another Jabao pump (pp4) to the tank. I think I have some dead spots in the circulation and hope this will fix it.
Still having some NHA spots. hopefully the pump will help but the high mag may be contributing. will try to add a NHA eater soon.
Added more clean up crew to the frag tank/sump they are making good headway.
I got the QD driver in for the mp10. It took some effort but I finally got it to connect to the reeflink.
If the old black box lights sell, I will be getting a new skimmer. this one wwnt nit again whil I was gone.
Getting hair algae again so I changed the GFO.
