Tank seems to be cycled now, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate have gone to 0. Im a little worried about the algae dying off and causing another ammonia spike. So ill wait till the algae is under control before I add any corals.

Iv added a couple of snails, not sure what kind, ill put some photos up later. Bit of an impulse buy. I know I shouldn't but they didn't have the turbo snails that everyone talks about, so I took some lfs advice.

No nitrates may be caused by algae growth on live rock. Once ammonia and nitrites are gone I guess the cycle is over.

Salinity seems to be at normal levels now, but will still have them checked at a local fish store before adding some fish.

Ammonia is still hanging around, and no nitrates yet so might still have a week or two of cycling.

Water changes to try fix salinity may have caused the cycle to struggle a bit. I did try do it over a few days, would of been a lot easier with a drip system, but I haven't set that up yet.

A cheap hydrometer has caused me to add too much marine salt to the water, salinity is at 1.030 even though cheap hydrometer reads 1.023.

Will slowly do water changes with RO till salinity is closer to 1.025 (1.020 on my dodgy hydrometer)
