The tank was looking really good going into July. I had added some new sps frags as well as a couple mushrooms. Growth was excellent and colors were fantastic.
As is customary when my tank is doing well I felt it necessary to make a massive change. I added a Gen 1 Radion to the already over capable PRO Radion. The added light - despite being turned down - seemed to put the whole system into disarray and I lost a couple frags as well as set back the growth and color of a couple that had been doing really well.
Since then the tank seems to have come back, in part probably due to raising and further reducing the light output.
I have added some additional frags and satisfied that I could do a bare bottomed tank, have since added sand. I used Caribsea's reef ready Aragonite and the visual improvement is substantial.
Its time to do my Friday Five Water change and top up the RODI for the weekend. I attribute my tanks survival thus far - despite my heavy handed adjustments - to diligent water changes.
