Introduction
Started my first salt water tank with a few co-workers in the office tank. After a couple of months I came across a great deal on a nano tank and took the dive at home.
Background
A true impulse buy.
Now that I have everything running my patience has returned. I spend most days researching different corals and trying to decide if I really want fish. An invert/coral tank sounds very appealing.
Filtration
A 8x8 block of bio media cut in half
Chemi pure blue
Small kheto fuge
Lighting
AI Prime - starting at 7am slowly ramping to full on at 12 until 4 when lunar starts until 10pm
Storms are enabled but are set for a very low intensity along with a <5% chance
Lunar is also enabled
Flow
Normal flow with the addition to the stream adjustment thing
Porcelain crab - He's very talented using all appendages at the same time!
Sunburst anenome (I think) - Nice and colorful
I'm digging watching bristle worms trying to disconnect from air bubbles.
1.025 SG
0 Ammonia
0 Nitrites
< 10 nitrates
450calcium
77F temp
Currently only supplying a very small amount of Benepets twice a week. Using it in the office tank and see really great results even with the sup bar equipment.
No inhabitants require additional feeding
Maintenance
Weekly water changes of 2 gallons
Change filter media every 2 days
Change chemipure
Clean out fuge
Inspiration & Goals
My goals are to have a sweet ass nano tank with lots of unique colors and corals. Inspiration has mostly come in the way of seeing a different kind of coral that I haven't seen before.
Disasters & Regrets
Nothing yet. Still far too soon to regret anything..yet.
