Couple of weeks ago I had a rock slide that resulted in my beutiful yellow montipora digitata breaking in three. Iglued the fragments to frag plugs and two of them seem to be doing fine. The largest one (that has the base and one of the branches) is bleaching though. It isva real bummer.
Plus my pocilopora got tissue necrosis not a good week al in all considering my clownfish seems to be sick from what I think is Dropsy.
On the plus side my montipora confusa died but the frag seems to be taking a turn for the good just as the capricornis with red polyps which is clearly improving coloration.
Coraline algae is starting to appear on the rockwork. Things are maturing
Montipora Confusa and Montipora capricornis continue to deteriorate. I decided to frag both in hopes that the frags will survive. Hope it works.
I added a new Montipora Capricornis and a Flame Angel.
Dipped Montipora Confusa and Montipora Capricornis on Two Little Fishies Coral Revive for 10 Minutes. Necrosis has progressed, especially in Montipora Confusa at the base. I'm not sure the Montipora Confusa liked the deep.
My Montipora capricornis and Montipora Confusa are not happy. I stopped dosing amino acids and other Koralen Zucht products because of that and my nitrates and phosphates have staid at 0. I stopped dosing additives for about 3 weeks (except for Coral Viralizer) which I resumed over a week ago.
I noticed tissue necrosis in the Montipora Capricornis and some bleaching on the Montipora Confusa (at the edge of the base encrusting the frag plug). I resumed dosing the additives plus feeding and they seem to be hanging in there. The colors turned pale over a period of weeks , prior to the problem. I guess Inwas starving the corals for nutrients.
