Canister filter has been sucking air and not working upon arrival. We will be moving the intake tube closer to the filter so that it may be placed deeper in the aquarium.
Basking area still colder than I’d like to see.
While trying to get the canister filter restarted, I noticed small pieces of ground up green plastic. This plastic could be dangerous to turtles if eaten. I was forced to inspect the canister filter and found the sponge filter and media covered. I cleaned the media and sponge filters. I also investigated the implement and found it chewed beyond function. The impeller will need to be replaced. All pictures included in report.
Watch the turtle for signs of not eating. If that occurs? Take him to a veterinary clinic immediately.

Basking area is a little cold at 86.7 move lights closer as long as he’s not in danger of coming in contact.
The turtles scutes seem to have dents and scratches? Please make sure these don’t get infected.
The canister filter was not working upon arrival. Make sure inlet tube stays in the water, and try to keep air stones away from inlet tube. We may have to find or develop a way of making this turtle proof?

Found BIO cube in canister filter. Syphoned as much detritus out as possible. Continued service will help detritus.
