Introduction
I'm not entirely an amateur to the saltwater world, just to the coral aspect. I had awhile back a fish-only tank, that I keep for a few years...till a weeks vacation. Anyways I fell off for a long while, and just picked up again a couple years ago. My wife picked me up this 46gal bow front, and here it is today. To provide for this hobby I'm a full time HAVC/R tech, if you have any heating/cooling questions shoot me a line.
Well I try to keep my parameters as stable as possible. Cal has been high (i assume cause i have no hard corals) 500ppm, I keep ALK around 7-8dKH, and SG 1.026. Last I test my MAG was close to 1500, but atm been slacking on that test. ill get it post soon. Temp stays @78. All other tests are done on a monthly basis or as needed, tank has been quite stable for the last couple years.
My feeding regimen is light, flake food twice a day AM & PM. Brine shrimp twice/three times a week between flake feeding.
Maintenance
My daily maintenance consists of cleaning the glass if needed, visual inspection of all equipment, and water top off. Weekly maintenance includes skimmer cleaning, possible water change, fraging them Xenia! before the completely take over. Monthly consists of pump cleaning.
