Today AquaticLog celebrates its 12th birthday.
As an aquarist who made his first steps in reef aquariums I immediately knew that I needed a service to organize all of my measurements, water changes, dosing and much more. At that point in time the only option was using an Excel file and there were a few templates around. Clearly there needed to be a better way, so I put together the first version of the website, registered aquaticlog.com and went ahead with the first release.
Since the first measurement on January 15, 2012, the service has grown to over 3 million measurements (3,165,662 as of this writing to be exact) and continues to support tens of thousands of aquarists all over the world.
While the website used to be the most popular way for aquarists record their aquarium journey, things have changed once people started using their mobile phones. First slowly, and then, rapidly - majority of all interactions with AquaticLog are done through native iPhone and Android applications. Which is one of the biggest strength of the service - your aquarium profile can be accessed interchangeably on both mobile platforms and as many devices as you'd like, but you can always go to the website as well.
Any long term AquaticLog user can attest to the fact that the app does not stop evolving. Every few weeks there's a new release, and each there you get a multitude of amazing modern features. Just recently you got the ability to search both products and inhabitants right within the app, look up their facts and add them to your aquariums. And there's a lot more coming.
I try to talk about about some of the ways I use AquaticLog right on my YouTube channel @treasurecorals and invite you all to join me both there and Instagram.
Here's to the next year! If you wish to do so, the best present one could ever wish for is to leave a review and rating in the App Store or Play Store. Thank you for using AquaticLog!
