No water change this week - to see if the nitrates stabilize or continue to drop.

Will change 5 gallons next week unless the nitrates increase above 20 ppm.

The de-nitrifying filter must be working. The Nitrates are down to 20 ppm for the first time since the tank was set up. Weeee!

Lots of recent snail eggs showing up everywhere. Until I get the algae under control that is a good thing. I hope I can rein them in after I get rid of the algae. Maybe the dearth of algae (if that ever happens will serve to eliminate the excess snail population. We'll see.

Bertha's progress seems to have arrested. She is timid and tends to hide much of the time lately. Her fins are not deteriorating but don't seem to be growing any more since introduction back into main tank. She is not being harrassed by tank mates but seems to be suffering from introversion. Now I'm a fish psychologist! lol
