2022-05-14 - traded 3 bags shrimp for 2 super red plecos at expo. placed in QT for now.
2022-06-12 - finished QT, moved to 20G fry station main tank for grow-out

2022-02-14 - bought 3 oscars (each about 3 months old) at keller farms
2022-07-15 - one jumped out - added lids to tank.

may be Macrobrachium rosenbergii or Palaemonetes vulgaris
pretty sure they are : Giant Freshwater Prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii
2022-05-01 - 3 left, they are huge -about 4". they havens seemed to have bothered the fish, but they dig and uproot plants occasionally. they can jump 2 feet when scared. i haven't been able to catch these last 3.
2022-05-20 - finaly caught them! there were 4. moved to oscar tank.

2022-03-20 - collected several water lilies from pond in flour bluff. will need to see flowers to identify species. have several native options:
Nymphaea ampla (white flower, ruffled leaves)
Nymphaea elegans (blue flower)
Nymphaea mexicana (yellow flower)
Nymphaea odorata (white flower, std leaves)
2022-08-04 - moved to alias tank (moved from 07 - Bay window rack)

2022-02-05 - purchased 10 wild type Axolotl eggs from trinity aquatics at the expo for 5$. already hatching (3 have hatched). placed in fry hatchery.
2022-02-07 - actually there are 11. 6 have hatched now. appear to be eating.
2022-02-12 - all eggs have now hatched. 11 healthy babies. all appear to be eating.
2022-03-09 - 4 now have front and back legs. separated them into a different bin.
2022-03-20 - the largest "monster" is now ~ 3" long - he seems to have eaten the others in his bin - at least there were only two in there. moved the small one back to the other, have him isolated now - down to 8 surviving axolotls.
2022-03-22 - moved to plastic shoeboxes with air stones on window tank stand.
2022-04-10 - one of the smallest - a brown one, bloated and died after developing red spots along its spine.
2022-04-27 - the two smallest died suddenly - no idea why - one looked bloated.
2022-05-14 - alia sold the 4 albinos at the expo for 20$ each. just have monster left. (moved from 06 - Fry nook tanks)
2022-08-05 - moved to their new home in alias tank. (moved from 10 - 10g tank rack)
2022-09-15 - purchased a albino ("angel") from trinity aquatics (female) $20
2022-10-15 - purchased a GFP/Copper with blue eyes ("Tooth") from trinity aquatics (male) $35.
2022-11-28 - first batch of eggs! (Tooth/Angel) should hatch around December 15th
2022-12-07 - took 15 of the eggs and placed in breeding bin. alia it keeping the rest in her previously empty 10g tank.
2022-12-09 - 8 hatched yesterday, all have hatched today (16 total). mix of white and yellow(green?) colors, 3 white ones have very black eyes. no eyes visible on the rest.
2023-03-04 - sold 20 of the 12-09 batch at expo. kept one for cheryl, placed in bedroom tank.
2023-09-15 - Alia is turning the axies over to cheryl. tanks cleaned and moved to guppy rack room. Monster, Tooth, and Angel in the 40g. One albino from the 12/9/22 bach remains in the 10g.
2023-10-13 - Monster is laying eggs! first batch from Monster\Tooth incoming.
2023-10-17 - Angel is now laying eggs. monster has finished - most of her eggs were moved to 10g for hatching.
2023-10-23 - most of monsters eggs have hatched at 10 days.
2023-10-25 - most of angels eggs have hatched at 8 days

5 tiny 2cm fish caught in Laguna, have red on dorsal fin and black bands on torso.
2022-02-02 - now up to about 3 cm - identified as gulf pinfish based on the black spot.

Description
Adults grow to around 4.5 inches (11.43 cm). Distinguishing characteristics include its olive back, bluish sides with yellow stripes and five to six vertical bars on sides. Pinfish have a silvery sheen overall, with yellow fins and a dark spot on the shoulder.

2022-08-06 - picked up a pair of half black blue guppy from Jadrens Aquatics at aquashella for Cheryl. (moved from 10 - 10g tank rack)
